Watch: Tim Tebow Pays Off Shoppers' Layaway Accounts
The former NFL quarterback created quite a stir at an Orlando Walmart Sunday.

Christmas came early for a few holiday shoppers in Orlando courtesy of former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow.
Tebow was in the area Sunday to help film a segment for “Good Morning America,” according to WSBTV.com. The segment is for a week-long series that features surprise layaway payoffs in stores across the country.
During the Orlando visit, Tebow brought recipients to tears as he told them their layaway accounts were covered.

“God bless you,” one shopper told Tebow while fighting back tears. “You just don’t understand how hard I’ve been working. I just thank you very much.”
The woman had said she intended to take some of the items off the layaway because she had decided she couldn’t afford them until Tebow stepped in.

Tebow, 26, was a first round NFL draft pick in 2010. He was a quarterback for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets before becoming a free agent. Tebow was also the Florida Gators’ starting quarterback during the 2007 season. It was that year he became the first-ever sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy.
Off the field, Tebow is the founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation. The nonprofit provides support to efforts meant to improve the lives of children around the world.
Tebow paid off two layaway accounts during his Orlando trip, totaling nearly $1,000, the Palm Beach Post reported.
“Good Morning America” is working with the nonprofit organization Pay Away the Layaway to facilitate the week-long giving push. That organization collects money to pay off layaway accounts for struggling families and individuals. To make a donation to the effort, visit the agency’s website.
