What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2020 In Brandon And Riverview

BRANDON, FL — Labor Day weekend is a time to kiss the summer goodbye, honor hard-working Americans and enjoy three to four days off work. There are also closings to know about in the Brandon and Riverview areas.

Below are the schedule changes to know for the Labor Day holiday in Hillsborough County:

Hillsborough County government offices: Hillsborough County government offices are closed on Monday, Sept. 7.

Hillsborough County Public Schools, (virtual included): Sept. 7 is an observed holiday.

Westfield Brandon Mall: The mall is open on Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

AMC The Regency 20: The movies are open on Labor Day. Check its website for show times and movies.

Libraries: All Hillsborough County public libraries will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.

U.S. Post Office: U.S. Postal offices are closed on Labor Day.

Additional Closings For Labor Day:

• All coronavirus public testing sites are closed in observance of Labor Day.

• The Michael S. Merrill Pet Resource Center is closed on Mondays. A limited number of Animal Safety and Enforcement officers will be on call for emergencies only. Submit a request via the Animal Request button at HCFLGov.net/AtYourService.
• The Sunshine Line transportation service is closed.
• The Public Utilities Department customer service centers in Northdale and Brandon. Emergency calls regarding county water and wastewater service may be made to (813) 744-5600.
• The Southeast County Landfill, Northwest and South County transfer stations, Resource Recovery Facility, community collection centers, and yard waste processing facilities are closed on Sept. 7. If your collection date falls on a holiday, services will resume on the next regularly scheduled collection day.

Open On Labor Day:

• Dog parks, skate parks, and splash pads are open on Sept. 7.
• Conservation parks, nature preserves, trails and boat ramps are open on Labor Day. Some recreational facilities within these areas, such as the Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum, remain closed in accordance with current county operational restrictions due to the pandemic.
