BRANDON, FL — As of March 22, Florida residents age 50 and older can get the COVID-19 vaccines per an executive order signed recently by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
If you are eligible to make an appointment, listed below are the most recent places administering vaccines at the following places in and near Brandon:
Tampa Greyhound Track, 755 E. Waters Ave., Tampa (Federal vaccination site)

Larry Sanders Sports Complex, 5855 S. 78th Street, Tampa (Federal vaccination site)
- Administering Pfizer Monday, March 22, and Tuesday, March 23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, (For Veterans and Family Members)
- The VA will contact veterans and family members being served by the VA who meet the criteria to schedule an appointment for the vaccine.
- Veterans not currently receiving health care at the VA, a family member of the any veteran or a family member of a VA employee can check, Tampa VA For Community and schedule a vaccine.
Florida residents without proper credentials will not receive a vaccine, and will be turned away, according to the Florida Department of Health.
One of the following documents will be accepted:
- Government issued ID
- Organizational identification card or badge for eligible categories
- Medical license (if applicable)
- Pay stub showing employment for eligible categories
- W-2 IRS form showing employer for eligible categories
- An employment verification letter on letterhead for eligible categories
Transportation Help:
If you have Medicaid and need transportation to get to your vaccine, Florida Medicaid will take you to get the COVID-19 vaccine for free, according to the Florida Department of Health. After you set up an appointment to get your vaccine or decide a time and date for walk-up locations, contact Medicaid and request a ride. You can call Medicaid's help line at 877-254-1055 to make the request.
