Dean Zipes on 5 Must-Visit Locations in Florida

Dean Zipes talks about what you should do when you visit the great state of Florida.

Living in Florida, there is nothing but bright skies and blue seas to look forward to. The state that many flock to for their travel plans is both exceptionally friendly and down to earth. Florida should be known for more than its beach, ocean, and Disney attraction, as it has a lot of great restaurants and other locations to visit too. Next time you go to Florida, check out one of these locations—you'll be surprised by how much fun you have.

Bok Tower Gardens
Taken straight out of a painting, this 250-acre garden with a 205-foot tall tower and bell will leave you spellbound. The magnificent gardens were initially created by Edward W. Bok and Mary Louise Curtis Bok as a bird sanctuary. The couple traveled to Florida during the winter, where they decided to build the bird haven on the hill. It resides 298 feet above sea level and is now a landmark location you should visit.

Busch Gardens
If you are looking for a park that has a zoo, roller coaster attractions, and some great food, look no further than Busch Gardens. Located in Tampa, the attraction park holds over 12,000 animals and the famous Sheikra roller coaster that drops riders at a 90-degree angle. This is the perfect destination for families since the more thrill seekers can ride to their heart’s content while those who aren’t interested can walk around the park and sightsee with the animals.

This three-day event is held in February in Biscayne Bay. It features over 360 different artists from around the world. While you are visiting, you can enjoy live performances, delicious local food and beverages, and, more importantly, the art exhibits. If you find something that you like, you can purchase it from an artist and know that you are getting a one-of-a-kind piece. This family-friendly event was designed to showcase the talent in the art industry.

Drive-In Theaters
Movie fanatics will enjoy the eight drive-in theatres that are still running throughout Florida. They feature high-quality films for less than five dollars a car. Thanks to the always beautiful weather in Florida, the locations stay open to showcase new movies.
