The group got their start in 1970 in Northern California, the Doobie Brothers have been playing a mix of country, folk, and R&B for decades. Playing in local bars in the Bay Area around San Francisco, the group released their debut album “The Doobie Brothers” in 1971. The album didn’t make the charts, but it showcased their vocal harmonies and soulful rock sound. Their second studio album, “Toulouse Street,” showed off a more polished side of the group, launching the Doobie Brothers into the public eye with top hit singles “Jesus Is Just Alright” and “Listen To The Music.”

Throughout the years the Doobie Brothers have stuck to their musical roots by continuing to record albums that come from the heart. Winners of the 1979 Grammy Award for Record of the Year with “What A Fool Believes,” if you’re a fan of rock and roll with perfectly blended harmonies, this is one concert you won’t want to miss in 2020.

The Doobie Brothers lineup for the tour will include Tom Johnson, Patrick Simmons, and John McFee. They’ll be joined by Michael McDonald, who has played with the group on and off since 1975. The band is excited to be heading out on the road again, as Johnson said in a recent statement — “We’re truly excited about our 50th anniversary tour, as it’s a celebration of the band’s entire history. We’ll be performing songs from our full catalog, as well as new music.”
