Hubbard House Awarded $10,000 Donation through Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® Emergency Community Support Grants

Companies Assist Brown & Brown of Florida in Giving Back to Local Communities During COVID-19 Crisis

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 28, 2020) – Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance announce a $10,000 donation to Hubbard House – nominated by Josh Becksmith of Brown & Brown of Florida – as part of an Emergency Community Support Grant to help independent insurance agents give back to their local community during the COVID-19 crisis. The donation will go directly to Hubbard House, a nonprofit organization that provides help and guidance for domestic violence victims including adults and children such as counseling, shelter and advocate rights.

“My team and I have recognized the hard work and dedication performed by Hubbard House during this pandemic and we are incredibly thankful for Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance for providing extra funds to help the community when we need it most,” said Josh Becksmith with Brown & Brown of Florida. “Hubbard House has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and the $10,000 donation will help the nonprofit organization continue to make a difference in the community they serve.”

Hubbard House will use the funds for their emergency shelter and services, including their unexpected costs associated with the pandemic. They have incurred additional expenses related to food, technology to provide services remotely while social distancing, and increased costs associated with staffing the shelter during the pandemic. Funds will also be used to support revenue gaps associated with the pandemic.

“The goal of the Emergency Community Support Grants is to help our independent agents make an immediate impact during this critical time in the local communities where they live and work,” said Alexis Holzer, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance Independent Agent Giving Program Manager.

For most victims, it all begins with a free, confidential phone call. Survivors may not act right away; only they know the best timing to safely leave, but the community’s continued care and support may make all the difference.
