The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office would like to remind citizens that at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2021, we will "spring forward" one hour, as daylight saving time (DST) begins.

  • The beginning of DST (in the Spring) and the end of DST (in the Fall) are the times of year to replace batteries in smoke detectors, and test them.
  • Update the time on existing timers
  • Lock car doors and don't leave valuables in the car! Remember: Day or night do the #9PMRoutine!
  • With the warmer weather, be mindful of more bicyclists and pedestrians on the roadway.
