Florida Prison Roof Tiles Fall, 5 Inmates Hospitalized: Reports
BREAKING: Local media outlets say roof tiles collapsed and injured several inmates at the Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler.

LAKE BUTLER, FL — Roof tiles at the Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler, Florida, reportedly fell on inmates and five were sent to a hospital. Multiple media outlets, citing the Florida Department of Corrections, said the inmates who were hurt on Tuesday morning are expected to survive.
Press Secretary Ashley Cook told the Gainesville Sun in an email that a section of the ceiling fell onto the inmates and they were taken to a hospital out of “an abundance of caution.” Department staff were inspecting the bathroom and the rest of the housing unit. Repairs will begin on Tuesday.
