Former Jaguars Player Arrested In Domestic Assault

Nose tackle Roy Miller was charged with domestic battery.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Roy Miller, who played four years with the Jaguars before being released in March and hooking on with the Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested Saturday morning in a domestic battery case, according to numerous media reports. Police indicated that the incident involved a minor injury but did not provide details.

Miller was booked at the Duval County Jail at 4:53 a.m. by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, ESPN reported.

He was released on his own recognizance Saturday afternoon by a Duval County judge who ordered him to return to court on Nov. 28 as officials investigate the charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm - minor injury, according to The Florida Times-Union. The NFL lists Miller as 6-foot-2 and 310 pounds.

Miller is in his first season with the Kansas City Chiefs, who signed him to a one-year, $1.4 million contract to shore up their defensive line. He has played a total of 13 snaps, with two tackles and four assists, according to NFL.com. The Chiefs gambled on him after he was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars in March. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009.

The Chiefs (6-3) are on a bye week until their Nov. 19 game against the New York Jets.
