2 People Seriously Injured Sunday In Crash On Interstate 75

Two people are hospitalized in serious condition following a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 75 in Pasco County.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Two people are hospitalized in serious condition following a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 75 in Pasco County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 2:07 a.m., a 21-year-old woman from Ocoee City was driving south on I-75 south of State Road 56. A 28-year-old Zephyrhills man was traveling south in the inside lane of I-75 when the left front tire of the car driven by the 21-year-old woman blew out.

The driver lost control and traveled across all the southbound lanes before colliding with the median guardrail. The car then rotated back into the inside lane and struck the car driven by the Zephyrhills man. The car driven by the woman was then propelled backward and again collided with the guardrail and caught fire.

Both drivers were airlifted to an area hospital following the crash.
