Wet Road Causes Driver To Plunge Into Retention Pond In Cheval
The sheriff's underwater recovery team had its hands full Saturday night when a driver skidded and the car nose-dived into a pond.
LUTZ, FL — No one was injured but members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's underwater recovery team had their hands full Saturday night when a driver skidded on a slick roadway and the car nose-dived into a retention pond off Lutz-Lake Fern Road in the Cheval subdivision.
The driver, the only occupant of the car, was able to get out safely.
"It's rainy season here in Florida," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We're urging drivers to be extra cautious when our roads are wet."
