Angel for Samantha Fundraiser August 4 12-4pm @ Xtreme Adventures

PLEASE HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Behind the sweetest moments her life may be in IMMINENT DANGER! John Thomas from ABC action news will be organizing a fundraiser.
Samantha's Story :

My daughter Samantha was diagnosed with an anaphylactic allergy to peanuts and dairy in June, 2007 at only 6 months old.  Since then our daily lives require emergency medicines in tow.  Going out to eat is extremely rare for Samantha; a trip to a restaurant could be deadly.  Trips to stores include avoiding isles with peanuts, the bakery and other high risk areas.  Because we have no way of knowing if a classroom is safe, Samantha is unable to attend school. Samantha does not have the opportunity to go to school because at any given time she could touch or smell something from a student or a classroom and she would need emergency medication and an ambulance.  Now six years old, Samantha should be going to school, playing at a friend’s house, or going to dance class without the fear of a life threatening situation.

For the first time these activities are within our reach with the help of an Allergy Alert™ dog from Angel Service Dogs™, Inc. (ASDi).  An Allergy Alert™ Dog will add another “defense” against peanuts and dairy that I, as her parent, can’t provide.  This dog is being trained to sniff out peanuts, peanut oil, and dairy products on items such as a classroom, backpacks, shopping cart and common places others would take for granted as being “safe.”

So, let me recapture how this will impact our lives:  ASDi is going to train Angel for peanut and dairy detection for Samantha, and the dog has a gentle, calm, personality for Samantha’s younger siblings.  You can’t begin to imagine how this will change or lives:  play dates, dance class, movie theatres, and dare I say – SCHOOL!!
