WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- A bird caused a power outage in Wesley Chapel Sunday when it dropped a snake on a Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative transformer.

The electric company posted a photo on its Facebook page, noting, "If you look closely, you can see the snake which we believe was dropped out of the air by a bird."

Others lamented the disruption in their activities. One man complained that the outage caused the cancellation of a hockey gave at Florida Hospital Ice and another had to abandon their shopping at Costco.

And one resident wondered if it truly was a bird that dropped the snake.

"Samuel L. Jackson probably threw it off the plane," said Joshua Green.
