Book Discussion: An Invisible Thread

The New York Time bestseller will be the topic of discussion at the library in May.

Back in 1986 Laura Schroff was a successful business executive. But a meeting with a New York City teenage panhandler would forever change her life.

The two would eventually form a mother and son bond that has lasted decades. Schroff wrote about her experience in "An Invisible Thread." The book is a New York Times Bestseller.

These days that panhandler Maurice Mazyck has a successful business and family of his own. He credits much of his success to meeting Schroff.

"It is the story of how two people who needed each other somehow became unlikely friends, against all odds. It is the story of the mysterious, unseen connections that exist between people who are destined to meet—and how, if only we open our eyes and our hearts to them, these connections can be the great blessings of our lives."
