Steinbrenner Car Wash, Shark Week and Green Thumbs

WARRIOR CAR WASH: Have a dirty car? Get it washed by a Warrior — Steinbrenner Warrior Football player that is. The school is holding a car wash fundraiser from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Burger King on the corner of Dale Mabry Highway and Van Dyke Road.  

FOR YOUNG ONES WITH GREEN THUMBS: Not far from Lutz, the Land O' Lakes Recreation Center will play host to a Kids Day for Gardening on Saturday, Aug. 10. "There will be 5 stations where the children can learn how to grow plants from kitchen scraps to making a dish garden," the announcement reads. THE LITTLE MERMAID JR.: The whole family can relive the magic of the Disney tale in this musical performance at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 North W.C. FIRST RESPONDERS CONCERT WITH COWHEAD & PITBULL TODDLER: Join Tampa radio personality Cowhead and his band, Pitbull Toddler, for a benefit concert at 8 p.m Friday, Aug. 9, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa. There will also be a silent auction, with all proceeds going to first responder charities. It's $10, or first responders get in free.
