Death Of 17-Year-Old Bicyclist Leads To DUI Manslaughter Arrest

A 43-year-old Zephyrhills woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter after being accused of crashing into a 17-year-old bicyclist Sunday.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A 43-year-old Zephyrhills woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter after being accused of crashing into a 17-year-old bicyclist Sunday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 2:18 a.m., Andrea Nadine Woods was driving a Ford Mustang south on Allen Road south of Happy Days Drive when she struck a 17-year-old bicyclist from Zephyrhills who was riding alongside a 15-year-old bicyclist on Allen Road.

Troopers said neither teen was wearing a helmet or using lights on their bikes.

The 17-year-old died at the scene.

Troopers said Woods blood-alcohol level showed she had three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system at the time of the crash.
