Flood Watch Issued for Tampa Bay Area
Tropical Storm Erika is no more, but heavy rain is still expected throughout the region.

While only remnants of Tropical Storm Erika remain, heavy storms are still a concern for the Tampa Bay region.
With “widespread heavy rain possible Sunday and Monday,” the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the entire Tampa Bay area, including Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties.
“Deep tropical moisture over the area combined with tropical moisture from the remnants of Erika currently over central Cuba will create the potential for every heavy rainfall across west center and southwest Florida Sunday and Monday,” the service wrote in its flood watch advisory. “Three to 5 inches of rain with locally higher amounts is possible.”
