Hoagie-Building Contest Set For Wesley Chapel Wawa Opening
The celebration on Thursday, April 18 will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a charitable hoagie-building contest.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- Wawa Inc. today announced the grand opening of its new Florida store,
located at 28225 State Road 54, Wesley Chapel. The celebration on Thursday, April 18 will include giveaways, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a charitable hoagie-building competition between the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and Pasco County Fire Rescue.
To celebrate the Wesley Chapel grand opening, Wawa will offer free coffee to all customers at this location throughout Thursday.
The grand opening marks Wawa’s ninth new store to open in 2019. Throughout the year, Wawa plans to open a record 63 new stores and remodel 59 others across its operating area in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and the District of Columbia.

“At Wawa we recognize that our customers' lives move at a rapid pace, and whenever we open new stores, it is our goal to deliver our unique brand of convenience in a way that fits our customers busy lives and is attuned to their specific tastes,” said Todd Souders, senior director of Florida store operations.
The new Wesley Chapel store will open to the public at 8 a.m. with the grand opening ceremony beginning promptly at 9 a.m. During the event, members of the sheriff's office and fire rescue, Wawa General Manager Jared Paul, Wawa Area Manager Richard Morton, Wawa associates, customers and Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose, will join together for a ceremonial ribbon cutting, officially marking the opening of the store.

To honor their commitment to the community, the grand opening event will conclude with a Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition during which the sheriff's office and fire rescue will compete to see who who can build the most hoagies in three minutes in the traditional Wawa way.
Wawa will conclude the Hoagies for Heroes competitions by presenting checks on behalf of the winning and runner-up teams for $1,000 to the charities of their choice.
Additional highlights of the new store include a unique interior design, Wawa’s signature foods and specialty beverages, including custom salads, artisan sandwiches and milk shakes.
