Meals On Wheels For Kids Now Delivering In Lutz
Deliveries take place out of Mort Elementary School, 1806 E. Bearss Ave., Tampa.
LUTZ, FL — Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger, a tri-county leader in hunger relief, research and program development, has expanded Meals On Wheels for Kids (MOW4Kids) into Lutz (ZIP codes 33548 and 33549).
The program is delivering food to children who are attending school from home. Deliveries take place out of Mort Elementary School, 1806 E. Bearss Ave., Tampa.

The innovative MOW4Kids program, the first program of its kind, launched this past March.
MOW4Kids was developed in response to COVID-19 school closures to serve children 18 years or younger with meals delivered to their home by volunteers. MOW4Kids is an alternative for kids that are not able to access meal distribution sites throughout the county.
The program currently serves Clearwater, Gulfport, Lealman, Safety Harbor and St. Petersburg in Pinellas County; Tampa (33612 and 33613) and Wimauma in Hillsborough County; and Dade City in Pasco County.

Volunteers with Level 2 background checks will deliver Meals On Wheels for Kids by bus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 10 a.m.
Those who register will receive shelf-stable boxes of food, including produce, and cold meal packs for children and families.
Volunteers are needed each week to help pack boxes of food on various days throughout the week and deliver meals on Mondays and Wednesdays. To sign up to volunteer, click here.
