Moffitt Cancer Center Opens Satellite Campus In Wesley Chapel
Moffitt Cancer Center has opened a satellite campus at AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel.
WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — Moffitt Cancer Center held a virtual ribbon cutting this week for its new satellite campus on the site of AdventHealth Wesley Chapel.
Moffitt at Wesley Chapel will bring a range of oncology services closer to patients who live in Pasco County and areas north of Tampa.
“I am excited that Moffitt is getting closer to our patients,” said Dr. Tim Kubal, medical director at Moffitt at Wesley Chapel. “This is also a great opportunity to innovate the way clinical care is provided at Moffitt and change processes to reflect both efficiency and excellence in patient care.”

Mofitt will occupy nearly 28,000 square feet of the new building that features 20 exam rooms, 22 infusion chairs, three blood draw stations, two linear accelerators and a CT Simulator. Patients will be able to access blood draw, infusion, medical oncology, radiation and surgical oncology consultations at the new location.
“We are excited to offer world-class cancer services in Pasco County and want to welcome the leading-edge team from Moffitt Cancer Center to our campus as part of our broader vision to build a network of care covering diagnosis, surgery, treatment and recovery,” said Erik Wangsness, AdventHealth Wesley Chapel president and CEO. “This makes it possible for our community to gain convenient access to world-class lifesaving care without leaving Pasco County, and we look forward to providing even more services like this in the future.”

The new building off Bruce B. Downs Boulevard near the Shops at Wiregrass will showcase a multi-specialty model in cancer care.
Moffitt at Wesley Chapel's services will include malignant and benign hematology, the breadth of solid tumor oncology, gynecologic oncology, endocrinology and more. Future growth of multi-specialty services offered at the site will be based on the needs of the community.
Eventually, according to Jazmin Calzada, director of clinical operations at Moffitt at Wesley Chapel, the new location will eventually offer clinical trials.
“Phase 3 trials will be conducted, and eventually we’ll move toward more complex trials in the future,” she said.
The new facility is staffed with Moffitt team members and physicians, who will work closely with on-site radiology and lab processing services provided by AdventHealth.
While the Wesley Chapel location will be most convenient for residents living in Pasco County and areas north of Tampa, anyone is welcome to use the new facility.
