Much-Requested Traffic Signal Activated In Time For School Year

A new traffic signal in Zephyrhills is helping direct traffic through the intersection of Eiland Boulevard and Handcart Road.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL -- A new traffic signal in Zephyrhills is helping direct traffic through the intersection of Eiland Boulevard and Handcart Road. The signal was activated Aug. 13 for the new school year.

“Safety improvements like this are critical as we experience continued growth in Pasco County,” said Pasco County District 2 Commissioner Mike Moore. “I worked with our traffic operations team to get this signal up, which is designed to make this busy intersection much safer for Pasco drivers.”

“I received several calls about safety concerns at this intersection,” said Pasco County District 1 Commissioner Ron Oakley. “I asked our team to make this location one of our top traffic safety priorities so we could have the signal in place by the beginning of the new school year.”
