The award marks the second Pasco County fire station design recognized on this prestigious stage since 2015. The station's architects, Fleishman Garcia Architects, worked with fire rescue leadership to develop the final plan over the course of a year, ensuring every detail was considered.

Pasco County Fire Rescue Station No. 38 in Wesley Chapel is the county's newest station design, boasting several features that promote firefighters' health and safety. It was the first station to showcase an advanced station alerting system designed to lower first responder heart attack rates, quicker-opening bi-fold bay doors, and a brand-new diesel exhaust capture system aimed at reducing firefighter cancers.
