Toy Drive Benefits More Than 10,000 Kids

Children's Home Society of Florida is hosting the annual drive.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping to make the holidays brighter for kids in need are invited to take part in the Children’s Home Society of Florida’s annual toy drive.

The statewide event benefits more than 10,000 kids, from newborns to teenagers, explained spokeswoman Allison Buchanan.

“The donations we receive put bright smiles on our children’s faces and make their holiday seasons magical,” Buchanan said.

Community organizations and businesses interested in sponsoring the drive are provided tree ornaments that highlight an individual child’s holiday wish. Those who simply wish to buy presents are also invited to donate unwrapped toys and gifts, as well.

“While gifts will be distributed during the week of Christmas, donations will continue to be accepted until Christmas Day,” Buchanan said.
