Water Main Break Closes Bearss Avenue Lane
Work is expected to continue through Wednesday and is also impacting another nearby roadway.

Motorists who use East Bearss Avenue or 18th Street to get around might want to reroute for the next day or so.
The Tampa Water Department has announced that the southernmost eastbound lane on East Bearss Avenue, between 17th Street and 19th Street, is closed so repairs can be made to a broken force main.
“Traffic will be merged into the remaining open lane,” the department wrote in an email to media.

The repairs are also forcing a closing along 18th Street from 143rd Avenue and Bearss Avenue, the department noted.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the department expected repairs to be completed by Wednesday evening.
