Wesley Chapel Woman Wins $2 Million In Lottery Scratch-Off Game

A 29-year-old Wesley Chapel woman is $2 million richer after winning the top prize in the Florida Lottery's CashWord scratch-off game.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- A 29-year-old Wesley Chapel woman is $2 million richer after winning the top prize in the Florida Lottery's CashWord scratch-off game.

The Florida Lottery announced that Amy Smith purchased the winning $2 million ticket at Racetrac at 5220 Cypress Preserve Drive in Tampa.

She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.6 million after taxes.

The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The $10 CashWord scratch-off game features six top prizes of $2 million and more than 6,000 prizes of $1,000 to $2 million. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.38.

Scratch-off games comprise approximately 69 percent of ticket sales and generated more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund in fiscal year 2017-18.
