2017 Chasco Fiesta Concert Series: What To Know Before You Go

From country to jazz to Christian, Chasco Fiesta will feature a variety of live music during the festival.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – The 2017 Chasco Fiesta is set to start soon, and so will its diverse concert series that has a little something for almost every musical taste.

During the nine-day festival, Chasco Fiesta will feature nine different musical showcases, with each night having a different theme.

Here’s what area residents need to know before you go to the 2017 Chasco Fiesta Concert Series:

Location

All of the concerts for the 2017 Chasco Fiesta will take place at the Sims Park Amphitheater, located at 6341 Bank Street in New Port Richey.

Concerts

The following concerts will take place during the 2017 Chasco Fiesta:

Friday, March 24

The JOY FM Family Night, 6 to 10:30 p.m., featuring We Are Messengers, Stars Go Dim, The Worship Creative and Overflow Worship. Admission is free.

Saturday, March 25

Chasco Fiesta Country Concert, 5:30 to 11 p.m. William Michael Morgan headlines with special guests Barrett Baber and Red Head Express. Tickets range from $25 to $60, and can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chasco-fiesta-country-concert-tickets-29771662845.

Sunday, March 26

Bay Area Showcase, noon to 9 p.m. The Black Honkeys headline an afternoon of Tampa Bay-musicians, also featuring The Greg Billings Band, Monkeybone, Fifty Grit and the Shawn Paige Band. Admission is free.

Monday, March 27

Youth Music Showcase, 6 to 9:30 p.m. This event features talented young musicians from Pasco County, featuring the band Nunes At Night. Wish Upon a Princess will also be there during the family concert night, featuring Princesses and Superheroes to meet and take pictures with. Admission is free.

Tuesday, March 28

Bluegrass in the Park, 6 to 10 p.m. Larry Gillis and the Swampgrass Band headlines with the Recycled Grass Band. Admission is free.

Wednesday, March 29

Rock & Jazz Under the Stars, 6 to 10 p.m. Show Biz Kids, a 12-piece Steely Dan tribute band, headlines the evening. The Tampa-based group is made up of renowned studio and touring veterans.

The evening will also feature five Pasco County School jazz bands, including Gulf High School, Wesley Chapel High School and Sunlake High School. Also, the Pasco Chools All County middle and high school jazz bands will perform under the direction of Josh Small, the director of bands at Melbourne High School, and Carmen Griffin, the director of jazz studies at Blake Performing Arts High School in Tampa.

Admission is free.

Thursday, March 30

Rhythm & Blues Masters, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Famed R&B musician Derek St. Holmes and local artist Julie Black will perform. Admission is free.

Friday, March 31

Oldies Night, 7 to 10:45 p.m. The Diamonds (of “Little Darlin’ ” fame) and Lola & The Saints will present their ‘50s and ‘60s music. Admission is free.

Saturday, April 1

Classic Rock Night, 4:15 to 11 p.m. Jefferson Starship, featuring original members David Freiberg, Donny Baldwin and longtime member Chris Smith, will headline the Classic Rock Night. The Embry Brothers Band and The Time Bandits will also play during the afternoon.
