2nd Pasco County Child Nearly Drowned In June

Two near drownings of children prompt Pasco County to issue warning.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — After a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old child nearly lost their lives in near drownings this month, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office has issued some water safety tips.

On June 11, Pasco County Fire Rescue was called to the scene of a 2-year-old in a swimming pool at the Beacon Square Civic Center, 3741 Bradford Drive, Holiday. After receiving CPR, the child was transported by medical helicopter to a local area hospital.

Then, last week, firefighters were called to the DupreeLakes Community Pool in Land O' Lakes after a 3-year-old child was pulled from the pool no breathing. A bystander performer DPR until emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the toddler to the hospital by helicopter.
