Accused Bank Robber Caught in Matter of Minutes

Alan Robert Peterson robbed the Wells Fargo on State Road 54, according to deputies.

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested a man less than a half-hour after he robbed a bank.

According to deputies, Alan Robert Peterson, 43, walked into Wells Fargo at 6013 State Road 54 in the New Port Richey area Aug. 9 and demanded money.

Someone saw him fleeing and got a description and tag number of the white Ford Explorer he was driving.

Deputies caught up with Peterson at Flora Avenue and U.S. 19 in Holiday, less than an hour after the heist.  

Peterson, of 616 Southwest Blvd., St. Petersburg, was being booked into the Land O’ Lakes Jail Friday evening and was being charged with strong armed robbery, according to Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Kevin Doll.
