City Not Raising Taxes

The city tax rate is staying at 9.5799 mills per $1,000 of property value

New Port Richey residents can breathe a sigh of relief 

City council members decided Sept. 23 not to increase the city’s property tax rate or fiscal year 2014, which starts Oct. 1.

They unanimously voted to set the millage rate at 9.5799 mills per $1,000 of property value. That’s the same rate as the current year.

City council members also gave final approval to the $52 million budget for fiscal year 2014. That’s higher than the current year’s budget of $40.04 million.

This is the first time ion two years the city council has been able top avoid raising the tax rate.
