Curious George Bike Day Set for March 19
Annual Pasco County celebration coincides with the 75th anniversary of the classic H.A. Rey children's book.

Preschoolers across Pasco County are invited to pack up their bikes, their tricycles, or their Big Wheels (with the help of an adult) and celebrate bicycle safety and the great outdoors during the Curious George Bike Day at Veterans Memorial Park on March 19.
This free event, which takes place from 9 a.m. to noon, began in May 2013 at Starkey Park to celebrate both National Bike Month and National Kids to Parks Day. However, because of concerns about the weather, the event has been held in March ever since.
As an added bonus, this year also marks the 75th anniversary of H.A. Rey’s beloved children’s book Curious George, so the Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department decided the two celebrations would make a great fit.

Specifically aimed at preschoolers, Curious George Bike Day invites children ages 3 to 6 and their families to get outside and active, and enjoy Veterans Memorial Park, 14333 Hicks Road in Hudson. Children can ride their bikes with Curious George, participate in a bicycle rodeo, watch a healthy habits demonstration, play on inflatable games, do crafts, receive free books, and more.
Free helmets will be given away to the preschool-age participants while supplies last, and Silly Sam the Music Man will perform live.
