Young Elfers Man Threatened with Scissors

Scott Ingalls didn't take kindly to a decline of his offer for yard work.

A man visited a home on San Jose Loop in Elfers on Aug. 18 and asked the 19-year-old who lived there if he wanted any yard work done.

When the 19-year-pold declined and tried to shut the door, the man, later identified as Scott Ingalls, forced his way into the entry wielding a pair of scissors, according to an arrest report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

He shut the door after him, saying "I don't want to let your dog out," according to the report.

Ingalls, 27,  told the resident to get him money. He told the teen "I'm really sorry about this."

The resident got him money, and Ingalls fled.

The resident later told deputies that Ingalls had also asked weeks earlier about doing yard work.

Deputies found Ingalls on the back porch of a home on Westend Avenue in Elfers.  He ran after talking to the deputy. The deputy caught and arrested him.

Ingalls told deputies he "messed up" and "tell him I'm sorry."
Ingalls of 6847 Westend Ave. was charged with armed robbery and resisting arrest without violence. He remained in the Land O' Lakes jail Aug. 19 in Lieu of $150,150 bail.
