Local's Mac and Cheese Recipe Makes National Contest Finals
The creation has been named one of the main course finalists in the 2014 Eggland's Best recipe contest.

A New Port Richey resident’s genius in the kitchen has gained national acclaim.
Eggland’s Best has named Josee L’s “Macaroni & Cheese Souffle” one of five finalists in the main course category of its 2014 “Your Best Recipe Contest.” Now in its second year, the contest features egg-based recipes in such categories as breakfast, appetizer, main course and dessert.
The winner from each category gets $1,000 while a grand prize winner takes home $10,000, according to the contest’s website. Winners in the four categories are being selected based on votes logged on the contest’s website.

Josee L. is from New Port Richey, according to an Eggland’s Best media release issued about the five finalists in each category. The mac and cheese soufflé is up against such creations as Overnight Sausage Strata, Sunshine Potatoes and Italian Vegetable and Three Cheese Tart.
Voting is open through Oct. 31. To vote for the macaroni and cheese recipe, visit the contest website. The full recipe is also available there, along with recipes for all the other finalists’ dishes.

All winners will be announced Nov. 10.
