A Love Letter To Nancy Giordano
"We have changed as people, but our love for each other has not changed, it has only grown stronger."

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Greg Giordano's love letter to his wife, Nancy:
Dear Nancy,
37 years ago we celebrated our first Valentine’s Day as boyfriend and girlfriend. A few months later we were married and have not looked back. It is hard to believe how quickly the time has gone by. So much has happened. We have changed as people, but our love for each other has not changed, it has only grown stronger.

We have shared some incredible moments in our life together. The births of our three children surely rank at the top of the list of our all-time greatest achievements. Our oldest, Rebekah, is married and celebrating her own Valentine’s Day with her husband. Our second, Elizabeth, graduates from college this spring and will be married later this year. Our youngest, Joseph, graduates from high school in just a few months with his whole life before him. Could we have imagined nearly four decades ago that these three beautiful children, each individuals yet each carrying on a part of both of us, could ever have existed or gone on to do such wonderful things with their lives?
We’ve experienced great happiness and joy, and some sorrow and pain over the years. The most important thing to me is that in a world that is full of things which are disposable, our love for one another is not. We have seen each other through some wonderful, challenging, maddening and joyous moments. At times, lives have hung in the balance and yet, with God’s grace and our faith in Him we have seen them through by being there for each other.

I love you, Nancy. I will love you, forever. As we celebrate this Valentine’s Day with a quiet dinner and a movie, we have much to look back on and still more to look forward to. By your side I will be.
Love,
Greg
