NAMI Pasco Announces May Mental Health Awareness Month Events

PORT RICHEY, FL — The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) affiliate in Pasco County (NAMI Pasco) announces its May Mental Health Awareness events.

As recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month NAMI, Pasco will host several events with the aim to raise public awareness around mental health conditions and their associated stigma, highlight the importance of seeking help early, show how to navigate the barriers people may face when trying to get assistance, and to celebrate participants on their journey to mental health recovery. All events are free to participate.

A virtual Heroes of Hope Walk/Run/Nap kicks off the month on the 1st. Running through the entire month of May. Registration is free, but donations are encouraged. https://register.namipasco.org

Children’s Mental Health: Building Your Child’s Self-esteem and Personal Power, May 8 at 6 p.m.

Suicide Prevention: What You Need to Know, May 11 at noon.

Mental Health Self-care: Reducing Stress and Creating Wellness, May 13 at noon.

Partial Hospitalization: What You Need to Know, May 18 at noon.

One Woman’s Journey Towards Mental Health, May 20 at 6 p.m.

Bouncing Back After the Pandemic: Strategies to Heal and Thrive, May 22 at 6 p.m.

In-person Themed Nights will take place three Saturdays throughout the month with limited space. One can register by emailing info@namipasco.org

Game Night Extravaganza, May 1 at 6 p.m.

Pizza and Vision Boards, May 15 at 6 p.m.

Paint Party, May 29 at 6 p.m.
