New Flood Insurance Rate Maps Take Effect June 5
The county is encouraging property owners to use its interactive, online tool to find out how proposed flood hazard data impact them.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Pasco County Floodplain Management is encouraging property owners to use its interactive, online tool to find out how proposed flood hazard data contained in the new Flood Insurance Rate Maps could impact their properties.
The new Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Insurance Rate Maps will go into effect June 5. FIRMs identify flood hazards throughout the county and help determine flood insurance rates.
Pasco County encourages property owners to contact their insurance agents to determine if the new maps affect their flood insurance premiums.

Pasco County recommends that all new construction and substantial improvements meet the higher Base Flood Elevation shown on the preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Map and Flood Insurance Study report, if applicable.
