New Port Richey Free Concert Series Kicks Off Jan. 18

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The City of New Port Richey Parks and Recreation Department will present the fourth installment of its free concert series at the Sims Park amphitheater on Saturday, Jan. 18, featuring the Crosby, Still, Nash and Young tribute band, Southern Cross.

The band will perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the park, 6431 Bank St.

Families are invited to bring chairs and blankets. Light concert snacks will be available for sale from local businesses or concert-goers can dine before or after at one of the many downtown restaurants, microbreweries, pubs or clubs.

Although pets on leashes are welcome in Sims Park, veterinarians recommend that concert-goers leave them at home.

In conjunction with the concert series, the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatics Center will offer a free park-and-ride service beginning at 6 p.m. Catch the shuttle at the aquatics center and avoid the hassle of searching for parking near Sims Park. The last shuttle will leave Sims Park to return to the aquatics center promptly at 9:30 p.m.
