Formerly a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, she graduated from Providence High School, Joliet, IL in 1950. For many years she was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Church in Plainfield, and an active member of the church choir and the Mother’s Club at St Mary Immaculate School.
Lois was an incredible cook and baker. She was a professional cake decorator for several decades out of her home in Plainfield. She was also an accomplished organ player and hosted the Muir family reunion in the 1980s and many holiday gatherings with her siblings and their spouses. She enjoyed countless years of summer vacations in Florida with her husband and children. She also enjoyed many fall trips to Wyoming to visit her brother and his wife. During her winter seasons in Florida as a “snowbird” (before becoming a permanent Florida resident in 2014), she enjoyed having frequent visits from her children and grandchildren and had many wonderful times visiting flea markets and all the classic tourist sites of the state.
