Maaco Surprises Customer Who Lost Son, Partner To Coronavirus
Maaco New Port Richey wanted to help a valued customer, who lost a son and partner to COVID-19.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Local pastor, Lorelei Melfi, went to pick up her vehicle from Maaco New Port Richey and she was met with a surprise as she learned her vehicle repairs were free.
Maaco New Port Richey gifted this summer surprise for their valued customer, celebrating a deserving member of their community.
“Lorelei came in for a estimate on a paint job and we were moved by her story,” says Beth Berger, owner, Maaco Maaco New Port Richey. “The car belonged to her son, whom she lost to COVID-19. She also lost her partner to COVID-19 - but she has not let this set back her community outreach efforts. She is still carrying out programs offered by the church like taking parishioners to get groceries, to doctor visits and to get COVID-19 as well as flu vaccinations.”

The car is currently the only vehicle available for these charitable efforts and it unfortunately sustained some sun and external damage.
“We are proud of everything Lorelei continues to do for our community and her resilience has truly been an inspiration to us all,” continued Berger. “Maaco has a long history of supporting the communities we serve, and we are happy to go the extra mile offering this summer surprise to a local hero.”
