Pasco Warns Of High Winds, Possible Tornadoes
Tropical Storm Colin is expected to make landfall north of Pasco County sometime on Monday.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — As Tropical Storm Colin makes its way toward Florida, Pasco County is bracing for severe weather Monday afternoon and evening.
The storm, located several hundred miles west-southwest of Tampa, had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. While landfall is expected in the Big Bend area, Pasco County Emergency Management officials anticipate sustained winds between 40 mph and 50 mph in the area.
“Residents are asked to secure any loose items on or around their property, including things like trash cans and lawn furniture,” the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office warned on its Facebook page. “High winds will likely bring down some trees and power lines.”

Pasco County officials are also warning of a high risk for tornadoes and waterspouts through Monday night.
