Planning To Eat Out? You Might Want To Avoid These Restaurants

In the past 30 days, these restaurants had more Florida Health Department violations than any other restaurants in Pasco County.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – Pasco County residents planning to eat out this weekend might want to avoid these eateries.

In the past 30 days, they’ve had more Florida Health Department violations than any other restaurants in the county, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Topping the list with 39 violations was Tonbo Hibachi Grille at 9310 U.S.19 N in Port Richey.

Its biggest violations were for serving potentially hazardous foods. Inspectors said food such as raw tuna, octopus, conch and shrimp were not being stored at the proper temperatures.

Knockers Gentlemen’s Club and Sports Bar, 2851 U.S. 19 N, Holiday, had 32 violations issued on March 1.

The club's most serious violations included not sanitizing food-contact surfaces and food stored at improper temperatures.

While Stormies Too at 9821 Denton Ave, Hudson, had only 13 violations issued on March 15, it was the nature of the violations that gave inspectors pause.

Violations included rodent droppings in the cooler, under the food prep table and on the lid of a soup can. Inspectors also took issue with employees handling food with their bare hands.

Other restaurants in Pasco County with the highest number of violations were:

  • Hot Wok, 1414 Seven Springs Blvd., New Port Richey, with 31 violations
  • Subway #26520 at 24726 State Road 54, Lutz, with 24 violations
  • Top China, 9135 Little Road, New Port Richey, with 24 violations
  • Hibachi Japanese Express, 5315 Village Market, Wesley Chapel, with 24 violations
  • Kumo Japanese Steakhouse of New Port Richey, 8631 Little Road, New Port Richey, with 21 violations
  • Haagen Dazs at the Tampa Premium Outlets, 2382 Grand Cypress Drive, Lutz, with 20 violations.
