Robber Assaults Cashier, Customer At New Port Richey Dollar Store

Police are searching for a man who stole cash while wearing a hoodie and a hat.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Pasco County Sheriff detectives are looking for a robber who assaulted a cashier and customer at the Dollar General in New Port Richey before leaving with stolen cash Saturday.

Described as between 25 and 30 years old, the man wore a black hoodie and a hat, which partially obscured his face, according to the police report. Police say he attacked a customer and the cashier when they tried to stop the robbery, leaving them both with minor injuries.

The cashier managed to remove the man's hood and hat during the tussle. After stealing some cash, police said the robber ran away from the scene.

According to the report, the robber was a white man who had a thin build, brown eyes, brown hair, facial stubble, slightly tanned skin. He was wearing a gray shirt that said "STAFF" in yellow on the back, along with tan pants and black shoes. He might have a tattoo on his right forearm.

"Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477)," police said. Information that leads to an arrest will be rewarded with $3,000.
