Rolling Red Right Turns to be Ticketed

Drivers who roll on a red light for a right turn will start being cited in New Port Richey.

If you don't make a full stop before turning right on a red light, be prepared to face the consequences in New Port Richey.
The city will be implementing red light camera enforcement of rolling right turns through red lights starting this month, according to an article from WTSP.com.
The speed in which the turn is made is taken into consideration and must be considered "careful and prudent". Currently, New Port Richey has yet to decide the minimum speed for citations and has officers using their judgement in issuing the tickets.
The law only applies to vehicles that don't make a full stop at red light. The vehicle in relation to the stop bar doesn't come into consideration when ticketed for a rolling right turn citation.
