St. Patrick's Day: How Pasco County Celebrates Amid Pandemic

PASCO COUNTY, FL — The traditional festivals and parades that mark St. Patrick's Day in Pasco County have been canceled as the coronavirus pandemic approaches the one-year mark.
However, residents are still finding ways to celebrate their Irish heritage on Wednesday, March 17.
St. Patrick's Day celebrations in America date back to 1631, according to National Geographic. Originally declared a feast day, over time the holiday increasingly became associated with the Irish American tradition.

Here are some celebrations happening around Pasco County Wednesday:
Fitzgerald's Irish Tavern, 5811 Nebraska Ave., New Port Richey, will serve up traditional corned beef and cabbage along with Leprechaun Shots and Irish Car bombs.

Ukulele Brands, 4805 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes will serve up Irish fare including bangers, shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage and lamb stew starting at 4 p.m.
Amvets Post 98, 4629 Bartlet Road in Holiday, will host a St. Patrick's Day party March 17 featuring live music by Kevin Purcell from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and live music by Jim Clark from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be Reubens available for $6, horse races from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and a queen drawing at 7 p.m.
Inn on the Gulf, 6330 Clark St., Hudson, will offer corned beef and cabbage, reubens, Irish whiskey and green beer. Call 727-868-5623 for reservations.
Skinny's Bar & Grill, 13228 U.S. 19, Hudson, will offer live music by Run for Cover, drink specials and corned beef with red potatoes, baby carrots and cabbage from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Grille at Fox Hollow Golf Club, 10050 Robert Trent Jones Parkway, Trinity, will serve up corned beef and cabbage all day for $16.95.
Brick City Eatery, 16540 Pointe Village Drive, Lutz, will offer corned beef sandwiches and reuben and happy hour two for one beer specials, two for one wine specials and $5 appetizers from 4 to 6 p.m.
Ordinance One, 5738 Main St., New Port Richey, will open at 1 p.m. on St. Patrick's Day and offer green beer and food from the The Belgian Bus Fla food truck.
The Social NPR, 5650 Main St., New Port Richey, will host a DJ and karaoke party from 7 to 11 p.m.
