State College To Host Lectures On Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Pasco-Hernando State College will host the 35th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture Series.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Pasco-Hernando State College will host the 35th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture Series featuring Maurice Hobson, Ph.D., associate professor of African-American studies and historian at Georgia State University.
Hobson will present "The King of the World: Martin Luther King and Public Memory," Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 9:45 to 11 a.m. at the West Campus, Performing Arts Center, New Port Richey, 10230 Ridge Road; and from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch, Conference Center, B303, 2727 Mansfield Blvd., Wesley Chapel.
"We are thrilled to have Dr. Hobson as a guest lecturer to engage our faculty, staff, students and the community," said Imani D. Asukile, director of global and multicultural awareness and special assistant to the president.

"Martin Luther King and Public Memory" discusses the need for Americans to study Dr. King's teaching versus the exploitative versions of what he represented.
