T'is the Season for Community, Glad Tidings, and Good Cheer

December is a busy month for everyone, but when you take a look at what is happening downtown this holiday season, you have to wonder how we manage to pack it all in!

Take a break from all the hub-bub tonight with live original music from Arbour Season, Taylor Reed, & Brother Brother at the Karl Reef bar on the corner of Main and Grand tonight at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door.

We've got the 42nd Annual Holiday Street Parade coming up next weekend along with a whole slew of opportunities for music, entertainment, shopping, and holiday cheer the entire month.

Of note, the New Port Richey Public Library is giving parents the gift of a night of kid-free shopping! Just register before this Friday and you will be able to drop your kids (kindergarten to 5th grade) off for a free night of pizza, games, crafts, and entertainment so you can head downtown to shop, sample, and snag some deals from downtown merchants like Wright's Natural Market, Maharajh Acupuncture & Herb Shoppe, Dream Bubble Shop, the Gateway Gallery & Emporium, Wonderfully Made Boutique, and The White Heron Tea & Gift Shop.

Have a golf cart? Jazz that baby up with some holiday lights and tinsel, then meet up at Sip on Sunday, December 16th for a fun tour around town. They've got decadent eats and a fantastic selection of craft beer and wines to choose from too, so you're guaranteed to have a jolly time.

People Places is hosting their 2nd Annual Wassail About Town which is a casual gathering of neighbors, business owners, and others who are invested in making our city a great place to live-you will always find someone interesting to talk to here. Bring a beverage or snack to share and enjoy a walking tour of downtown.

If you're looking for ways to give back, several of the downtown businesses are hosting charities for the Holidays. Ordinance One is hosting a donation drive for the SPCA Suncoast, Wright's Natural Market has a giving tree for Youth and Family Alternatives kids in foster care, and just outside the downtown at Caposey's Whole Works Restaurant you can "adopt a senior."

Just before New Years Mullins Music will be hosting their 1st Annual Mullins Music New Year's Eve Eve Gala, which is a benefit for their kids music program. So if you're into supporting arts education for our kids, this would be a good one to get in on. And it's a swanky dinner party to boot.
