PASCO COUNTY, FL — When he's on duty, Pasco County Sheriff's K9 is all business.

The German shepherd, who joined the sheriff's office in June 2017, is a member of the Tampa Bay Regional Bomb Squad and has assisted federal agencies with the protection of dignitaries and at high-profile events like the Gasparilla parade.

But at the home of his partner, Cpl. Joe Liddick, K9 Chris has been known to relax his standards and, yes, even engage in a bit of criminal mischief.

That's what the Liddick family discovered when they placed a video surveillance camera in the kitchen to find out who'd been swiping all the Halloween cookies.

Despite the video evidence, K9 Chris, with his mouth covered in cookie crumbs, refused to admit to the theft.

When the sheriff's office posted the video on its Facebook page Tuesday, the majority of the more than 70 people commenting agreed that K9 Chris was the victim of entrapment.
