Woman Arrested in Moon Lake Shooting

A 36-year-old woman has been arrested in connection to a Moon Lake shooting. 

An e-mail from the Sheriff’s Office say deputies found a man still alive with a gunshot wound to the shoulder in the road in front of a home at 12900 Duchess Avenue around 3:20 a.m. Sept 4.

Deputies later arrested Stephanie Ballog.

A witness told deputies she had seen Ballog and Maki argue in the kitchen of the residence prior to the shooting. She said Ballog left the kitchen and then returned with a handgun and shoot Maki.

The man, identified as Richard Maki, 42, was taken to a local hospital and expected to survive.

Deputies do not believe the shooting was an domestic violence incident.

Ballog was charged with attempted and booked into the Land O' Lakes jail.
