Atlanta Silverbacks Resume Operations
The team is holding a men's tryout this Saturday at its DeKalb stadium.

ATLANTA, GA -- The Atlanta Silverbacks announced on Thursday the team is resuming operations and holding men’s tryouts this Saturday at its stadium in DeKalb County.
The new ownership group includes chairman Boris Jerkunica; John Latham; John Hardin; United Futbol Academy (UFA); and A+ Sports Management Group (A+).
Both the Silverbacks’ men and women teams will return this summer in the National Premier Soccer League and the Women’s Premier Soccer League, respectively.

“As a premier club, UFA is committed to providing platforms to allow our male and female soccer players an avenue from the youth rank all the way to the professional and national team level, thus providing a clear path to the professional arena,” said Iggy Moleka, UFA co-founder and soccer director. A former Silverbacks player, Moleka will serve as GM and coach for the women’s team.
“We want to continue to provide a good product so people can enjoy a nice Saturday night soccer game,” Jerkunica said. “It will be more like going to a college game, a different experience on the field, but it can still be a lot of fun.”
