Briarwood Park Group to Discuss New Dog Park

The group will hear from a representative with Brook Run Dog Park on Tuesday night.

The Friends of Briarwood Park will discuss the benefits of an off-leash dog park Tuesday night.

The discussion will be part of a meet-and-greet with Brookhaven's new police department held by the Drew Valley Civic Association, according to the group's Facebook page.

The Friends of Briarwood Park is holding their monthly meeting Tuesday August 6th at Briarwood Park in tandem with a Meet & Greet for our new Brookhaven Police Officers coordinated by the Drew Valley Civic Association (DVCA). The meeting begins at 5:30 and ends when the charcoal burns out. We'll meet at the Forest Patio.

We want to welcome the New City of Brookhaven Police officers as part of Tuesday's National Night Out (http://www.natw.org/). All volunteers, members and neighbors of both organizations are invited to attend. Special guest include Laine Sweezey of Brookrun Dog Park and the Center for Pan Asian Community Serivces(CPACS). Layne will speak briefly about how beneficial an off leash area can be to a park. Special thank you to CPACS who provided a grant to build the new community garden boxes. Officers, welcome to the neighborhood!

After the meeting Friends of Briarwood Park will host a cook out including hamburgers, hotdogs and ice scream sandwiches for attendees at the Forest Patio (Site of the OLD playground.). All are welcome and encouraged to bring your favorite side dishes as well......Please bring your kids, bring your chairs and make new friends while checking out all the improvements happening at our Park.
