Brookhaven Community Crime Map Now Available Online

Brookhaven police launched the new map Monday, so residents can now see specific crime reports by neighborhood and other categories.

BROOKHAVEN, GA — Brookhaven residents can now see drilled-down crime reports in their community to keep themselves informed and stay aware of their surroundings.

Brookhaven Police Department launched its new web-based Community Crime Map, powered by LexisNexis, on Monday. The system allows community members to sort crime reports by incident type, police beat, neighborhood boundaries and other categories.

Users can also see crime density heat maps to find crime patterns and trends, according to a news release.

“The Brookhaven Police Department is working hard to make as much data available to our community as possible,” Police Chief Gary Yandura said. "The Community Crime Map gives direct insight into the type, frequency and location of incidents BPD responds to."

The map is updated twice daily based on police incident reports and includes every crime report except family violence incidents. Addresses are partially redacted to show only the block number to protect crime victims' privacy.
